PITTSBURGH: Central Blood Bank Gives “Twilight” Fans a Chance to Receive “New Moon” Tickets

Pittsburgh fans unable to get tickets themselves do have an alternative. In honor of the release of “Twilight: New Moon,” the Central Blood Bank is hosting a special New Moon themed blood drive event on Monday, November 2nd and Tuesday, November 3rd.

Twilight” Fans of all ages are anxiously counting down until the opening night of the second movie “New Moon,” which premiers November 20th nationwide. But with such a large following, tickets for the movie are already sold out in theatres across the state and nation.

The drives will take place from 1:00PM – 8:00PM at the Sokol Club at 2912 East Carson St. in Southside on November 2nd and from 1:00PM – 7:00PM at Dingbats at the Pittsburgh Mills.

The first 250 donors who schedule an appointment for either drive at www.centralbookbank.org or call 412-209-7080 and provide the drive code “Q002″ for the November 2nd drive or “Q003″ for the November 3rd drive and show up to donate blood, will receive a FREE pair of tickets to a special midnight screening of the movie.

The screenings are taking place at the SouthSide Works Theatre on November 19th, the night prior to the official opening and at 11:59PM on November 20th. These will be the first public showings of the film. Additional single tickets to the midnight screening are available only while supplies last to donors who show up as “walk-ins.”

Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Central Blood Bank, Judi Matok, says they are constantly trying to engage the public with creative ways to donate. “By focusing on what is hot in pop culture, in this case, the Twilight craze we can engage a very important audience.”

Representatives from the Central Blood Bank encourage as many people to donate as possible. Each blood donation can save up to three area lives. In order to give blood you must be 17-years-old (16-year-olds can donate with parental consent), must weigh at least 110lbs, and not have any tattoos or piercings (ear piercings are okay).

Did you know that every 2 seconds someone in the USA needs blood. We should be aware of being a blood donor and help to save lives. We should be a donor especially holiday is coming and accidents happen. Anyway, I found a ton of good information on the blood donation process and where to donate here at http://bloodbanker.com
