UNDATED (KSLA) – Preparations are being made all across the Ark-La-Tex for possible flash flooding. Sandbags now available in Shreveport-Bossier,
In Caddo Parish, the Office of Emergency Preparedness fine tuned its plan should Thursday’s rain cause flooding or power outages.
Officials in both Shreveport and Bossier City have also made sandbags available to residents to help with the possible flooding expected to hit the Ark-La-Tex starting Thursday. (more…)
A wicked line of weather, possibly containing two tornadoes, ripped across parts of Shreveport and Bossier Parish this afternoon in a one-two punch three hours apart. A neighborhood between Bossier City and Haughton suffered extensive damage as trees fell on houses and roofs were damaged by high winds. A pine tree fell and cut a brick house in half, briefly pinning a 94-year-old woman under debris. She was taken to the hospital for observation, her grandson said. Two dozen homes in the Mimos Gardens neighborhood were damaged.

Project Implicit is a joint investigation between Harvard, the University of Washington and the University of Virginia into our subconscious biases. The project began 11 years ago. Many would say that they are not biased against Latinos, those with darker skin, obese people or women, but researchers say that we can harbor subconscious biases that we are not even aware of. With Racism Test at four-minute test throws different races at you and has you identify the images as “bad” or “good” as quickly as you can. The idea is that your first reaction is most likely your honest reaction.
