Barbara Mandrell CMA Awards 2009
November 12, 2009Barbara Mandrell was at the CMA Awards 2009. Mandrell, a country music veteran singer, was pleased to be present at the 43rd Annual Country Music Association Awards. Mandrell had glowing words of praise for Taylor Swift. Evidently, Mandrell was happy to pass the baton to the younger generation of performers. She would be happy to hold to candle to Swift’s rising star.
Another old timer to grace the CMA Awards was George Strait. Strait’s brother, John Buddy Strait, 58, has passed away and was found dead in his hotel room on April 10 2009. George Strait showed no signs of aging as he sang one of the classics.
It was Taylor Swift’s night as she won the Female Vocalist Of the Year Award, Entertainer of the Year Award, Album of the Year Award and Best Video of the Year Award.

George Strait should have won a CMA last night and it should have been Male Vocalist, at the least.
Country ain’t country anymore. Today’s country is more pop.
