ST. LOUIS (Nov. 11, 2009) – Rawlings Sporting Goods has announced the 2009 Rawlings Gold Glove Award Winners for the National League.
“Since its creation in 1957, the Rawlings Gold Glove Award® has been bestowed on some of the greatest defensive players the game has ever seen and this year is no exception,” said Mike Thompson, Rawlings Senior Vice-President, Sports Marketing. “Defense is a cornerstone of the Rawlings brand and we’re proud to recognize defensive excellence at basebal’s highest level. Congratulations to the 2009 recipients.”
This year, four of the nine National League players selected are first time award winners including Adam Wainwright (NL P), Ryan Zimmerman (NL 3B), Michael Bourn (NL OF), and Matt Kemp (NL OF).
