Shaniya Davis autopsy results in, press conference scheduled for 8:00 p.m. (video)

Shaniya Davis autopsy results are in and the Fayetteville Police have scheduled a press conference for tonight at 8:00 p.m. Shaniya Davis disappeared from her home on November 10, 2009. It was later determined that her mother had sold her as a sex slave, she was only 5 years old. Shaniya Davis’ lifeless body was found on November 16, 2009. Her body was immediately transferred to the North Carolina Office of the Medical Examiner, located in Orange County, North Carolina

As the Shaniya Davis autopsy results are expected to be revealed, additional charges in the case have been delayed. Currently, Shaniya Davis’ mother, Antoinette Davis and Mario McNeil (an ex-boyfriend of Antoinette Davis’ sister) are in custody. Antoinette Davis has been charged with human trafficking, child abuse involving prostitution, and filing a false police report. Mario McNeil has been charged with first-degree kidnapping.

The press conference tonight might announce additional charges in the case.
Jurisdiction has been an obstacle in the case, and it is likely that prosecutors in both Cumberland County and Lee County have determined which county will have jurisdiction in the case. Fayetteville, North Carolina is in Cumberland County and where Shaniya Davis disappeared. Sanford, North Carolina is in Lee County and is where Shaniya Davis’ body was found. Before additional charges may be filed, jurisdiction must be determined.
The tragic death of Shaniya Davis has caused the state of North Carolina to take a closer look at the way they deal with inmates and criminals. Mario McNeil, who was seen carrying helpless, five-year-old Shaniya Davis into a hotel room, had been granted an early release from his probation. Other problems surrounding the case include the fact that Shaniya Davis had been pulled out of school by her mother, Antoinette Davis, who only had her daughter living with her for approximately 5 weeks. Social services had been to Antoinette Davis’ home, regarding the welfare of Shaniya, yet never notified Shaniya’s father regarding the visits. As this case unfolds, it is likely that more fingers of accusation and blame will be pointed.
Hopefully, in tonight’s press conference, the finger of accusation will be directed at the perpetrators of this heinous crime and charges of first-degree murder will be announced.

Video of Press Conference will begin at 8:00 P.M.
