Volvo giving Twilight movie fans chance to win a Volvo XC60
Volvo Cars of Canada is giving vampire movie fans a chance to win a Volvo XC60 or tickets to the world premiere of The Twilight Saga: New Moon in Los Angeles and opportunity to meet some of the cast members. Entrants have a chance to win a Volvo XC60 — the vehicle driven by Edward Cullen, the character portrayed by Robert Pattison in New Moon, by putting their Twilight saga knowledge to the test in an interactive contest.
The game also includes tickets to the New Moon premiere. To enter, visit www.whatdrivesedward.com.
“Volvo is central to Edward’s character in the Twilight saga,” Jeff Pugliese, president and CEO of Volvo Canada, said in a statement.
“One lucky fan will be the first to solve all of the puzzles in Volvo’s What Drives Edward contest and win a new XC60.
“While the XC60 doesn’t come equipped with a vampire, the winner will experience the power, beauty and protection that is Volvo, and it will transport them to all of their great moments in life.”
Players who register will receive clues to help solve a series of puzzles.
Volvo launched a contest tie-in with the second Twilight movie New Moon, “What drives Edward?”
Twilight fans who participate in the contest can win premiere tickets and a new Volvo. A lot of fans are having trouble with “What drives Edward, phase 4,” and a question on Yahoo Answers points to a video that seemingly helps. Oasis of the Seas has arrived in Florida’s Port Everglades.
Kicking off the festivities will be a “Welcome Flotilla” organized by the Winterfest Boat Parade committee, with watercraft of all sizes meeting up and escorting the ship to its new home at Port Everglades. En route, the ship will pass a 1,500 sq. ft. custom-designed “Welcome to Fort Lauderdale, Oasis of the Seas” sand painting on the shores of the inlet to the port. Cruise enthusiasts will have the opportunity to celebrate and watch the ship approach nearby at a public welcome party at the Jetty Pavilion at John U. This can be a very difficult day for those who suffer from a fear of Friday the 13th. The morbid fear of the number 13 or the date Friday the 13th is called triskaidekaphobia and for certain individuals it can cause misgivings, anxiety and all kinds of distress.
Dr. Bert Hayslip in the Department of Psychology at the University of North Texas in Denton says certain individuals are more prone than others to believe in a superstition like Friday the 13th. Hayslip says, “People who are anxious, or are real dependent people who are unduly influenced by authority are the very ones who usually engage in this superstitious behavior like those that feel if you tell me its bad I’ll believe you.” (more…)
