$6500 home-buyer tax credit for current homeowners

http://www.christianpf.com/wp-content/uploads/6500-tax-credit-for-home-buyers.jpgApparently all the talk about the $8000 first-time homebuyer tax credit being extended and expanded is coming to pass. According to a USA Today article…

“Senators agreed to extend the existing tax credit for first-time home buyers while offering a reduced credit of up to $6,500 to repeat buyers who have owned their current homes for at least five years”

Obama seems to be fully behind the extension of the tax credit, so it is will likely be finalized very soon. The proposed bill would extend the current $8000 tax credit for new homebuyers from it’s current end date of November 30th, 2009 to April 30th 2010.

Black Friday Deals 2009: “Christmas Creep” Leads To Earlier Deals

Sears took “Christmas creep” one step further Wednesday, pitching its weekly sales as “Black Friday doorbuster” deals before Halloween.

The merchant, owned by struggling parent company Sears Holdings Corp., said it would kick off the weekly specials Friday evening and open stores at least two hours early every Saturday through Thanksgiving, hoping to draw shoppers with the promise of markdowns before the day after Thanksgiving.

The traditional shopping spree — dubbed Black Friday because it often was the day when a surge of shoppers helped stores break into profitability for the full year — has marked the kickoff of holiday shopping for many shoppers. But its importance has faded in recent years as merchants started hawking the deep sales and expanded hours usually reserved for that day well in advance. (more…)

First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit Extended to April 2010, Previous Homeowners

A new Senate proposal will offer a first time home buyer tax kredit extension to homes under contract by April 30, 2010. The former deadline was November 30, 2009. The home buyer tax credit will also be offered to people who have lived in the same home for five years, according to the proposal, which at time of writing hasn’t passed yet, but has bipartisan support. New Google Map Navigation App Takes on GPSes

In conjunction with the launch of the Android-powered Motorola Droid smartphone, Google on Wednesday announced the beta release of a turn-by-turn GPS navigation application with voice guidance for mobile users called Google Maps Navigation. Google Maps Navigation is a free app that will essentially turn Android 2.0 phones into a GPS navigation device. Information is gathered from the Internet – specifically Google Maps – rather than satellite data used by most GPS devices. (more…)
