Cure For Triskaidekaphobia
This can be a very difficult day for those who suffer from a fear of Friday the 13th. The morbid fear of the number 13 or the date Friday the 13th is called triskaidekaphobia and for certain individuals it can cause misgivings, anxiety and all kinds of distress.
Dr. Bert Hayslip in the Department of Psychology at the University of North Texas in Denton says certain individuals are more prone than others to believe in a superstition like Friday the 13th. Hayslip says, “People who are anxious, or are real dependent people who are unduly influenced by authority are the very ones who usually engage in this superstitious behavior like those that feel if you tell me its bad I’ll believe you.” (more…)

Friday The 13th Rolls Again
It’s Friday the 13th, the day that can make even a level-headed person a little superstitious.
Much of the stigma surrounding Friday the 13th stems from October the 13th, 1307.
On that Friday, the Pope of the Catholic church in Rome and the King of France carried out a secret death warrant against the wealthy and powerful Order of the Knights Templar.
The Templars were condemned as heretics, and their Grand Master, Jacques DeMolay, was arrested, tortured and crucified.
“Skeptical Inquirer” columnist Dr. Joe Nickell says Friday itself has always had a dark side in Western cultures.
Nickell, whose publication bills itself as the “magazine for science and reason,” points out the Bible pinpoints Friday as the day Eve gave the apple to Adam. (more…)

Friday The 13th – Are you fear enough ?
As you will all be aware, today is Friday 13th. And for those people, who are superstitious, will know that Friday 13th is an ominous day for many. People from all across the world, will be rearranging travel plans and some may not even step foot outside their houses.
