Crist says he won’t “prejudge” Scott Rothstein, who was big donor to Republican Party

The Republican Party of Florida has been a big beneficiary of Fort Lauderdale lawyer Scott Rothstein’s former of Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler Attorney & Law Firm about contributions and fundraising during Gov. Charlie Crist’s leadership.

Here’s how Crist responded today to questions about Rothstein after he toured a small Web development company in Fort Lauderdale.

Question: Scott Rothstein has given more than $500,000 to the Republican Party in the last few years. You went to his wedding. You obviously have a close relationship with him. What’s your reaction to some of the troubles that are going on there? (more…)

RRA Attorney Law Firm demise to have trickle-down impact

The situation involving Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler and its leader, Scott Rothstein, has the potential for rippling impact in the South Florida charitable, political and business communities. The Dan Marino Foundation, named after the Miami Dolphins Hall of Fame quarterback, has two upcoming events involving RRA, which is going into receivership, and Bova Group, in which Rothstein is an investor.

Suzanne Friedel, development coordinator for the foundation, said the group was “moving forward with our events, but otherwise I don’t have any comment.” (more…)
