The situation involving Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler and its leader, Scott Rothstein, has the potential for rippling impact in the South Florida charitable, political and business communities. The Dan Marino Foundation, named after the Miami Dolphins Hall of Fame quarterback, has two upcoming events involving RRA, which is going into receivership, and Bova Group, in which Rothstein is an investor.
Suzanne Friedel, development coordinator for the foundation, said the group was “moving forward with our events, but otherwise I don’t have any comment.” (more…)

According to south Florida press reports, the law firm (Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler) has hired former U.S. attorney Kendall Coffey to investigate allegations involving founding partner Scott Rothstein. According to the above-linked story in the Broward-Palm Beach New Times, the turmoil appears to caused by an imploding investment venture by Rothstein, who is believed to be in Morocco.
